Illustrations for five short stories by Julian Howard.

"Le Mistral"
Five children go on an adventure to the south of France with a Canada goose. A bit of geography and some history thrown in for good measure.

"P.C. Cake"
The family encounter a policeman from the 1950s.

"The Cookies"
This short story is all centred around a play on words whereby “the cookies aren’t” becomes “the Cookies’ aunt”. This inevitably causes some confusion to the central characters.

"Jollity Blaze"
This story is a fictional imagining of a news story involving a young boy finding a Megalodon tooth, millions of years old, whilst on a fossil hunt on Bawdsey Beach in Suffolk.

"Spring Has Sprung"
The family encounter various animals frolicking on a drive in spring. Another short story centred around a play on words.

"Dinosaur Den"
A story that alludes to the evolution of life on Earth seen through the eyes of a dinosaur family and a visiting, friendly tyrannosaurus, who is something of a prophet.
